Clearwater Golf Course: Challenge with Scenic Beauty

With a mix of links and parkland styles this course showcases both natural spring-fed lakes and a background of the Southern Alps.

Course History and Notable Players

The Clearwater Golf Course has established itself as a premier venue for professional golfers, hosting tournaments such as the Web.com Tour, Australian Men’s Tour, and Euro Ladies Tour. Renowned players like Jason Dufner, Bubba Watson, Jason Day, and Lydia Ko have showcased their skills on these fairways. Ms. Ko’s remarkable course record low of 61, set in February 2016, solidified Clearwater’s reputation as a challenging and rewarding course.

Beautiful Landscape and Layout

Clearwater Golf Course offers a picturesque setting with spring-fed lakes scattered throughout, reminiscent of Florida’s famous links-style layouts. However, the course stands out with its stunning backdrop of the Southern Alps, providing a unique and breathtaking experience for golfers.

The modern design, crafted by New Zealand golfing legend Bob Charles and developer John Darby, is meticulously laid out and offers a variety of challenges for golfers of all skill levels. The course is located just north of Christchurch, making it easily accessible for both locals and visitors.

Signature Holes

Considered one of the toughest challenges in the country from the tips, golfers may expect to encounter water throughout Clearwater GC.

4th: This 170 yard par-3 is set amongst the wetlands and has two bunkers that protect the green to the right and from the front. It’s truly a Jekyl and Hyde hole, as it will play extremely difficult if the wind is blowing.

18th: This par-4 finishing hole has water on three sides and is one of the more difficult way to finish a round.

With its rich history, world-class players, and stunning landscape, Clearwater offers a truly unforgettable golfing experience. Book your tee time today and discover why this course is a must-play for golfers of all levels.
