The Greenmantle Estate

As the only true luxury lodge on the west coast of the lower North Island, Greenmantle Estate Lodge offers sophistication and convenience to the Kapiti Coast and Paraparaumu Beach.

Located a quick ten minute drive from Paraparaumu Beach Golf Club and the stunning Kapiti Coast is the Greenmantle Estate, the only luxury lodge on the west coast of the lower North Island. In addition to its beautiful and large stately main house, the estate also features six additional suites which offer exceptional comfort and relaxation for guests.

Greenmantle was renovated in 2000 by architectural firm Don Nelson & Associates. As a result of their work they won the prestigious ADNZ Design Award (2003) for Residential Alterations and Additions. Guests will enjoy a more modern and clean layout, with increased open transparency and sweeping views to the outside.

Landscape architecture within New Zealand has recently experienced a renaissance of sorts. The drive to recognize the beauty of Pre-European plantings and the importance of native species has taken ahold throughout the country. Greenmantle is perhaps unique in that its grounds, at almost 5 acres of land, include not only native ferns and other New Zealand flora, but a forest of the extremely slow-growing Nikau palm. The Nikau is a rarity and the only endemic palm to mainland New Zealand.

In 2002 Tiger Woods played in the New Zealand Open and stayed at Greenmantle Estate Lodge.

Our trip was incredible. I don't think there is anything I would change- other than having even more time in New Zealand!!!
