Established in 1873, Christchurch Golf Club is a historic gem and the second-oldest golf course in New Zealand. Renowned for hosting numerous national championships, including the New Zealand Open, this course has played a significant role in the country’s golfing history.

Locally known as the Shirley Golf Course, it underwent a redesign in the 1990s by renowned golfer Peter Thomson. Today, it offers a picturesque golfing experience just a short distance from Christchurch’s city center.

Not only is Christchurch GC one of the oldest organized golf clubs outside of Ireland and the UK, but it also has the distinction of being the home of Sir Bob Charles, a legendary New Zealand golfer. In 1990, the course hosted the Eisenhower Trophy, a prestigious international amateur championship.

This always beautifully maintained course leverages undulating fairways, creeks and an open layout to present a test for golfers across all levels.
