Located on the Whangaparaoa Peninsula, only 40 mins outside of Auckland's downtown area, the "Trilogy" of 15th, 16th and 17th challenge golfers of all levels when the winds are blowing. The front 9 of this course has more hills than the back 9, which moves toward the water.

Signature Holes:

7th, Par-3: This 328 yard par-4 is a superb risk/reward hole which showcases Jones' excellent use of water. A dogleg flanked by a lake tempts long hitters to go straight at the green.

16th: A par-4 dogleg right winding along the cliff tops. Measuring 460 yards, long hitters will be tempted to shortcut across the water and onto the green. Failure to carry the distance risks the ball landing on a downslope off of the green toward the cliff face. Success however is measured with an Eagle attempt.

17th: Par-5 552 yard hole follows the edge of a cliffside high above the breakers.

Customer reviews

I can’t thank you enough for your help planning a truly memorable vacation. Yuliya and I had an amazing time. Two definite highlights were the sailboat charter and the Marlborough Lodge. Nik and his girlfriend Natalie were such a pleasure to meet and spend a perfect day with. The Marlborough Lodge is one of the nicest places I have ever stayed. From the room, to the staff and the exquisite food it was top notch. I have referred you to a couple of my friends who are planning trips next year and when We make it back, you will be our first call. Thank you again for everything.

It was a trip of a lifetime with truly unique beauty not found anywhere else. A New Zealand trip requires a specialist who knows the lay of the land the unique challenges of traveling and sight-seeing there.

The country looks a lot smaller than it really is, and travel times are longer than one can assume.

The route chosen by Cristina helped us maximize our time there. I’m usually a do it yourself traveler, but for this trip I’m sure glad I had Cristina at Best of New Zealand.
