Here is a simple blog post which will provide steps visitors from the USA will need to take in order to travel to New Zealand (updated August, 2023):
1) Obtain a New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA)
This is for travelers holding a passport from a Visa Waiver Country (USA, Canada, etc) and the easiest way to do this is by downloading the free app to your Smartphone. The cost is $9 (if processed on the free app) or $12 (if done online).
2) Pay the International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL)
This can be done at the same time as your NZeTA and the cost is NZD $35.
3) Complete a Traveller Declaration before departing for New Zealand – please see www.TravellerDeclaration.govt....
The Traveller Declaration covers what steps you need to take before traveling, how to complete the declaration and advice on what to do on arrival.
4) Test for Covid with the 2 free rapid antigen tests (RAT)
The country will provide tests when you arrive. These are self- administered on the day they arrive and on Day 5 or 6. Please see: https://covid19.govt.nz/intern...
