The future of travel is almost upon us! Recently Air New Zealand announced it has partnered with New Zealand-based Zephyr Airworks on the world’s first autonomous electric air taxi service. Using Cora, a prototype air taxi designed and built in California with the goal "to bring the freedom of flight to our everyday lives" electric air travel took one more step to reality.
Can you imagine the views in New Zealand as an automated vehicle transports you from your accommodations in Wanaka to Jack's Point and back?! Cora has been tested since October, 2017 on the South Island and combines electric power with self-piloting software. The vehicle takes off vertically and then transitions to flight like a portable plane.
