The Lodge at Kinloch Earns Architecture Award

'The architect has taken full advantage of a spectacular site near Lake Taupo to create a richly atmospheric building that offers a luxurious guest experience. The massing of the building, treatment of fenestration, positioning of views and detailing have a common excellence." - Citation from the NZ Institute of Architects

Since 1905 the New Zealand Institute of Architects has highlighted outstanding architecture in the country, and this year's Gold Medal award celebrates the career achievement of Andrew Patterson.

Why is this important to New Zealand golf?

Because Mr. Patterson's company, Patterson Associates also was awarded for their work at the Lodge at Kinloch via the Sir Miles Warren Award for Commercial Architecture.

Not only does the lodge have a stunning view from high up on the hill- overlooking the Nicklaus-designed golf course and down to Lake Taupo, but a top-notch menu as much of the food is sourced from its sister property, Treetops. Treetops is north of Kinloch and equally as luxurious and beautiful, albeit in a much different setting and more lush setting within the North Island.

While there are many luxury properties in New Zealand in which one may stay, we encourage golfers and those interested to explore more contemporary Kiwi architecture to experience The Lodge at Kinloch.

As always, booking your New Zealand vacation via our team will not cost any more out of pocket, but by doing so you can receive a well thought out and consolidated itinerary that touches upon some of the best the country has to offer. Among those certainly is Kinloch!
