Wilderness Lodging

Quickly remove yourself from the bustle of daily life and explore New Zealand from outside the window of a moving vehicle. Select lodges throughout the country provide not only refuge but opportunities to actively learn more about this wonderful land and its fragile ecosystem.

Although often removed from areas in which great golf courses are located, lodges located in the bush of New Zealand can be a great way to learn more about the country's unique ecosystem. With meals included in the tariff, these locations make it easy to enjoy guided walks (ranging from family friendly to the more difficult) and to take a little bit of time away from the world.

When planning an itinerary for clients our experts understand how to build in breaks for golf and efficiently move both individual travelers and groups efficiently through the country. Trust us to know how much time to spend in each location and the real distance (time it takes to transfer) between points of interest.

The place is incredible and Gerry and his wife are terrific. We kayaked the first morning, did our own walks on the local trails afterwords (got to the ocean) and then did the Knight Beach Seal trek with Gerry. That was an once in a lifetime hike as Gerry is an amazing conservationist and excellent guide. We did some serious bouldering, got very close to the seals at Knights Beach and then went on this very steep, rope aided ascent out of the beach area. I can't recommend enough doing a hike with Gerry while there as it will really cement the value of that place and what he has built. We also loved having the sit down breakfast and dinners. Our family is still dreaming about the time there. The second morning, [we] took the kayaks out early on the Lake for a spectacular way to start the day. -S Kucirek, California
