More great news for golf in New Zealand, as the country has been named "top golf destination in the Asia Pacific region" by IAGTO (the International Association of Golf Tour Operators).
Recognized as delivering a great experience for golf by operators from across the world, other considerations for the region included countries like Fiji, Australia, Malaysia, Vietnam, South Korea, Thailand and China. This recognition furthers New Zealand's transition from a 'hidden gem' to a destination sought on a more world-wide scale by serious golfers.
In addition to accessible courses for the visiting international golfer, New Zealand has also recently hosted three larger profile golf events: the ISPS Handa New Zealand Open (Queenstown), the MCKAYSON New Zealand Women's Open (Auckland) and the Asia Pacific Amateur Championship (Wellington).
